51Talk capped its fourth year of operations in the country with a series of conferences for its home-based online English teachers. It is the biggest online English school in China and the Philippines, having the largest number of students in China and more than 5,000 home-based online English teachers in the Philippines. 51Talk helps Chinese students learn English through affordable lessons on its own online platform, which enables students to select the best possible teacher for them in the Philippines for interactive one-on-one online teaching.

It’s a game changer in making online English learning accessible to all, and this is where our Filipino 51Talk teachers take great pride in their work. They see that what they do is meaningful and fulfilling, that it can actually transform lives. Each teacher has a wonderful story to tell about how he or she has helped many students.

Take for example, 51Talk Teacher Crossing, 47, from Angeles City, Pampanga, played a key role in helping his student, 13-year old Gu, land second place in China’s "FLTRP Cup" National English skills competition. When students know how to write and speak English well, doors of opportunities open up in their career and personal lives. As such, they can be admitted to universities or work abroad. Teachers are instrumental to their students’ success – present and future. Indeed, teaching is one of the noblest professions.

It must be said, however, teaching is not as easy as it may sound. Having good English communication skills may not be enough, so 51Talk ensures that all of its teachers are always well-prepared to face and teach their students through regular trainings that continuously improve their teaching skills. While teachers work at home, they enjoy flexibility of schedule. They are able to take care of their family. They are provided with a dedicated support team who gives them full online support – this is very beneficial especially to newly joined teachers. For senior teachers, the top performers can be promoted to home-based online trainers. This is why in 51Talk, there is career and development for online teachers at all levels of experience.

The work has also made positive lifestyle changes for 51Talk teachers. Teacher Jollibelle, 31, from Batangas City, says,“What attracted me the most to becoming an online English teacher for 51Talk is the flexible time schedule which is very suitable for a full time mother like me.” Teacher Jollibelle works at home and no longer worries about commuting, traffic, and finding a nanny or leaving her baby in the care of others.

Teacher Marlon, 25, from Cebu City, shares, “My job before in a call center required me to work on graveyard shift. I kissed that goodbye when I moved to 51Talk as a home-based online teacher.” He also bade goodbye the high taxi fares he spent daily on going to work past midnight. “What’s more,” he adds, “I get to earn and save even more.”

51Talk teachers can earn more than an average full-time job’s wage. Top earners can earn as much as P80,000 a month when they take advantage of 51Talk’s incentive programs.

51Talk gives numerous income opportunities. The work is home-based, so no matter where you are, as long as you have a good Internet connection, a computer, webcam, and headset, then you are good to teach. Experience in professional English teaching is preferred. The essentials are a good command of English and a passion for teaching. Once you have these, 51Talk will help you polish your online teaching skills and start earning money from the convenience of your home.

Interested in becoming a 51Talk home-based online English teacher? Visit to apply.

PRESS RELEASE : Indak 24/7 wins back-to-back title at Healthway Medical’s Dance for Health 3

Healthway Medical—the most trusted and preferred mall-based clinics in the Philippines—recently capped off its third annual Dance for Health competition at the Alabang Town Center. For the second time in row, Indak [24]7 Dance Force won the yearly competition.

*Opening the Dance for Health 3 competition with VP of Sales and Marketing, Carmie De Leon, and ATC clinic manager, Dr. Vina Daguio, together with the marketing team.

Indak [24]7 Dance Force—the official dance troupe of [24]7 Customer Philippines, Inc.—claimed their second championship title after besting seven other teams. The group took home PhP 75,000.00 and premium merchandise from Salem Beds.

Dance for Health is the annual dance battle launched by Healthway Medical to encourage corporations to join its advocacy in promoting a healthy lifestyle among Filipino employees.

According to Carmie De Leon, vice president for sales and marketing of Healthway Medical, employers need to put a premium on their employees’ health for them to become more productive at work and at home.

“Being healthy brings a lot of advantages not only to individuals but also to the whole workforce,” De Leon said. “That’s why when we launched the Dance for Health, we had corporations in mind—we want employers to put value on the health benefits of exercising and how this activity can improve their employees’ productivity.” De Leon said that the Dance For Health competition was first launched to celebrate the company’s anniversary. Now, “we decided to make it a full-blown advocacy for Healthway to easily reach out to corporations and encourage them to move to a healthier lifestyle.”

Eight different teams from some of the country’s biggest corporations danced their way to win this year’s Dance for Health championship crown. The judges were Elijah Africa, a freelance yoga instructor in major hotels such as DusitThani Manila and Makati Shangri-La Hotel; Jill Ngo, one of the country’s top belly dancers; and Mark Angeles, a licensed Zumba fitness instructor in the Philippines.

Power Dance Company of Powered IOX Events and Entertainment Production bagged third place and received PhP25,000. Meanwhile, the IOX Dance Crew of Powered IOX Marketing Services won second place and received PhP40,000 and special Healthway merchandise.

The 30-year-old Chicco Cleofe, the lead dancer for Indak [24]7, said that the team doubled their effort to defend their championship crown.

The Alabang Town Center crowd are up top their feet as the participants of this year's Dance For Health 3 started to strut their dancing shoes.

“Pinaghandaan talaga naming ito. Nagsacrifice talaga kami para makuha yung title. Nagpay-off naman siya. Kaya I’m very happy with Healthway kasi dinaos nila ulit ito. Mas naging fierce lang yung competition kaya tinaasan din naming yung level of confidence at effort namin kasi alam namin na competitive din yung ibang teams na sumali,” Cleofe said.

He continued, “Kaya salamat talaga sa Healthway sa pag-initiate ng ganitong event. Sana ipagpatuloy niyo pa ito para mas marami kayong mapasaya at matulungan. Ang ganda kasi eh, it’s for a good cause: to promote healthy living talaga lalo na sa mga tulad naming magdamag nasa office. Sa lahat ng nagtiwala samin, maraming salamat and see you again next year.”

The Dance for Health 3 is part of Healthway Medical’s Sleep, Eat Right, Exercise and De-stress (S.E.E.D.) campaign, which aims to raise the bar in promoting a healthy lifestyle among Filipinos.

De Leon concluded, “Employers are expected to be more proactive in helping their employees maintain a holistic well-being because this makes them more productive. More importantly, keeping your employees healthy also makes them happier, and happy people are always passionate about their jobs and life, in general. At Healthway Medical, we help make Filipino employees do their best in the healthiest way possible.”

Safety Measures in owning an iRover

With great power comes with great responsibility – Ben Parker

CD-R King Your one stop shop gives you an insightful
iRover safety usage.

The stylish and frolicsome appeal of iRover maybe mistaken as a toy. It is apparent to many that your futuristic iRover/hoverboard is fun to play with, but it is far from being a toy.

As per DTI’s consumer’s safety requirement, it should be clear to hoverboard enthusiasts that the gadget is intended for age 14 and above. We need to realize that we should exercise proper care when using anything that has 2-wheels. Protective gear such as helmet and wrist guards, elbow and knee pads should be worn whenever onboard a hoverboard.

Safety precaution for first-time users includes that the user should be in front of a sturdy handle to achieve balance in riding the iRover. Test your balance by slowly leaning back to move backwards. Gently lean forward to thrust in a slow mode forward. For novice users, always start working on a slow and steady pace until conquering the iRover.

In maneuvering towards left, slightly put weight on the right portion of iRover, while in turning right the left portion should bear more weight.

Battery Recharging is 6 hours and should be done with extreme caution. Presence of an adult should be sternly considered while youthful exuberance are being displayed by the youngsters. It is also advisable that iRover should ideally be for indoor use only.

Your one-stop media provider secure its consumers the necessities in owning an iRover like the do’s and don’ts, offshore manufacturer and store. Thus, should be clearly seen and stipulated on the box.

Achieve balance everyday, own an iROver !
Visit any CD-R King branch or
website to find out more.

A Kitchen You’ll Love

Whether it is a minor update or a total overhaul, you’ve got to put some love into your kitchen. The country’s favorite cooking gas, Solane, will walk you through on how you can add flair, style and function to the heart of your home.

“The kitchen is where homemakers spend most of the time preparing food for their families so it is important that we all improve its appearance—keeping it clean, organized, and safe for everyone,” said Ruben Domingo, Isla LPG chief executive officer.

Make a small kitchen feel larger
Do away with upper cabinets and install open shelves instead to make a cozy kitchen spacious. You can also make every inch of storage count with door-mounted shelves.

Add texture and a pop of color
Update ceiling tiles, ceilings, countertops, and cabinets with matching or complementing color schemes and textures. For example, ceiling tiles that mimic the look of antique tin tiles combine well with laminate floor surfaces. When it comes to kitchens, shades of red, yellow, white, and gray help create a warm and welcoming space. Blue, purple and green are not popular choices for these curb appetite.

Have fun remodeling your kitchen by adding decorative adhesive-back labels to canisters and jars for sugar, spices and other ingredients. You can also paint a chalkboard on the inside of the pantry door for recipes or inspiring words.

Find a focal point
Diminish a kitchen’s cluttered look by picking one focal point—something visually interesting that attracts the eyes. This can be an accent wall, sleek stainless steel rangehood, an apron front sink in front of a window with a great view. When you have your focal point, complement that area with a few eye-pleasing, quieter details.

Make it kid-friendly
Consider the safety of children when you are remodeling your kitchen. Place their favorite dishes and snack foods in drawers or on shelves they can reach to avoid accidents. A bar with stools can also serve as an after-school spot for kids. Keep the stove out of traffic areas so children can’t cause spills when running through.

Place your LPG cylinder in a well-ventilated area
“Choose a secure, well-ventilated space where you can store your LPG tank, preferably outdoors and away from direct sunlight, heat, and other sources of ignition,” said Isla LPG chief executive officer Ruben Domingo. “When you buy Solane LPG, do check the appearance of the cylinder, if it’s free from corrosion, cracks, etc.” Try to make the kitchen cozy by placing pretty pillows on a window seat.

Following these simple steps can inject personality to your kitchen, adding fun and inspiration while you prepare delicious dishes for the people you love.
